Company gives employees financial incentive for COVID vaccination

Insurer Anthem has announced that it will give financial incentives to all employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Anthem is the first health insurer to reward employees for getting vaccinated, Reuters reported.

After completing the vaccination, Anthem employees will receive a one-time credit toward medical premiums. They can also choose to donate the credit to the Anthem Cares Fund, the company said.

Anthem is the latest company to incentivize vaccination for its employees. Target said in February that it would give up to four hours’ pay to frontline and essential employees who get vaccinated, according to Reuters. Amazon, Marriott International, Kroger and Starbucks have also announced vaccination incentive programs.
